About me

I was inspired to create my debut children's book, Imagine Me after longing to find more diverse books that were relatable and that represented young readers similar to my own children.

It is important to have books like Imagine Me available, where young readers can identify themselves. The opportunity to relate to characters and stories develops confidence and aspiration within the minds of children so that they are able to realise their potential and grow up to become all that they can imagine to be.
"I have always had a passion for writing, whether in the form of poetry, songs or stories; I love them all. Now I can create the things I love for the ones I love; being my young readers.

For more charming, playful, relatable and vibrant stories that will encourage insight and confidence within the minds of children please support by following me, purchasing and promoting my books.
Biography

Then

I was born and raised in South East London. I am the eldest of five children; being the eldest inherits a lot of responsibility, along with the pressure to lead by example. As the saying goes, "heavy is the head that wears the crown". I would like to think that although I had my shortcomings and was not the perfect big sister at times, that when I led, I led well. I still love looking out for my siblings and although there is quite an age gap between us, they still were able to teach me so much and sparked my inner child when I thought I had lost sight of it.

My desire for writing came at an early age. I would write songs, short stories and poems at any given opportunity, especially acrostic poems, which if you read carefully you will notice make an appearance in my books. I just can't resist a poem. My initial intention when I put pen to paper may not be to write a poetic story but If I get in the rhythm whilst writing then I just can't stop myself. I am the same in my personal life, often, unexpectedly bursting out into song and communicating through lyrics to my children to humour them. This is my passion; therefore, I cannot deny sharing a piece of my heart with readers through my creativity.

and

After my secondary education in South East London, I then went to University to study Business Management in the city of Southampton. It was whilst studying, that I developed the desire to make my writings professional. In 2007 I set up a greetings card company.

In 2009 I got married and moved to the Derbyshire where I resumed selling my greetings cards before becoming a teaching assistant at a local primary school. It was during my work with children and frequent visits to the library with my own children, that seeing their joy, imagination and knowledge grow through reading encouraged me to continue my writing professionally through children's books.

Now

I am now a mother of 3 beautiful children and just like my younger siblings they continue to spark the inner child within me and inspire me to write relatable, playful, and insightful stories for children.

My debut children's book, Imagine Me, is inspired by my passion to ignite the imagination of young readers like my children and to encourage their belief that there is no limit to their potential and that their aspirations can be achieved.
